SmartMove is built for South Tyrol’s multilingual population. You can use the app in German, Italian, English, or Ladin (Gherdëina), and your choice persists across sessions.

Transit data — including stop names and line information — is sourced from the EFA API, which provides names in German and Italian only. If your language is set to English or Ladin, stop names fall back to German in search results and departure boards.

How to change your language

1

Open the Account tab

Tap the Account tab (the person icon in the bottom navigation).
2

Go to Sprache

Scroll down to the Sprache (Language) section and tap it.
3

Select your language

Tap the language you want to use. The interface switches immediately — you do not need to restart the app.

How language is stored

Your language choice is saved to your device under the key smartmove-language. It is available instantly the next time you open the app without any loading delay. If you are signed in to a SmartMove account, your language preference also syncs to the cloud and is restored whenever you sign in on another device.
If you share a device with someone who prefers a different language, they can change the setting from the account screen without signing in — no account is required to switch languages.
